From the Concierge, Ottawa, Relocating

The Canadian capital offers a peep into the country’s history, culture, art and natural beauty. Take a trip to Ottawa and explore Canada’s national heritage, whether it be at the Canadian War Museum or at the National Gallery of Canada, among so many others. A visit to the capital will leave you with an extraordinary experience, we’re sure of it.
Ottawa is a host to thousands of activities all year round, including music, sport and entertainment festivals! Here are some ways you can celebrate the summer season in the capital.

Jazz Festival (June 19-July 1)

The Ottawa Jazz Festival will celebrate its 35th anniversary this year with sultry, smooth numbers, a line-up of the biggest names in music, and of course, all that jazz. Catch The Roots, the Steve Miller Band and Busty and The Bass jam out to your favourite melodies in downtown Ottawa. Keep a look out for all the free shows!Ottawa Jazz Festival

Dragon Boat Festival (June 25-28)

Take the oars in this annual sporting event, and immerse yourself in Chinese cultural tradition. Paddle your way through the Dragon Boat Festival, or if you prefer to stay dry, there will be plenty of free concerts, multicultural performances, and exhibitions for you to enjoy. And I’ve saved the best for last: hundreds of food vendors will be on site to give you a chance to sample culinary delights from the Far East! There will be so much to do at the largest North American dragon boat festival in Ottawa.Dragon Boat Festival Ottawa

Canada Day (July 1)

Where better way to celebrate Independence Day than in the capital itself? In honour of Canada’s 148th birthday, Ottawa is throwing a not-to-be-missed patriotic party, complete with official ceremonies, games and activities, star-studded musical entertainment, and ending with a fireworks show!
