Bord’Elle Grand Prix
Make sure you keep Thursday, June 7 until Sunday, June 10 free on your calendar, because you’re in for a weekend you’ll never forget. Reminiscent of the 1920s, Bord’Elle sets to recreate and relieve the glam, grandeur and a little bit of spice this era represents. It’s a must-attend event for anyone looking for a Grand Prix experience.
Not a fan of the exclusive nightclubs? The Montreal Grand Prix street festival, held on Crescent street in downtown Montreal, might be just what you’re looking for. Starting June 7, Crescent Street between Ste-Catherine and de Maisonneuve is shut to traffic and is filled with vendors and exhibitors. There is fantastic cuisine, live music, fun contests, and of course, exquisite cars on display. This is the longest-running F1 street festival and is a perpetual favourite of racing enthusiasts. You cannot experience Montreal Grand Prix weekend without at least a short stroll down the bustling street.
Just a few blocks away from Crescent, the party continues on Peel Street. The Formula Peel Street Party is a slightly more upscale outdoor street festival. There are luxury cars and high fashion on display, with live music and fine cuisine to experience. Even more exciting this year is that Dorchester Square, at the bottom of Peel, will also be hosting a public celebration for Grand Prix weekend. Make sure not to miss out.
For the 6th consecutive row, Little Italy is joining the celebration. The community event, held on St Zotique East, is a family-friendly event for kids and racing enthusiasts of all ages. There will be exotic cars on display, a beer garden, live music, and even a kids corner with inflatable games. Of course, one of the main highlights of this F1 event is the food. There will be multiple local vendors on-site, showcasing the best of Montreal’s Italian food scene.
Of course, the entire action-packed long weekend could not be possible without the main event: The Montreal Grand Prix du Canada 2018. The racing itself will be held at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, named for the Montreal driver who was in fact, the first winner of the Montreal Grand Prix.
