Come and see the Bard’s work come to life by the South Saskatchewan River, in the heart of Saskatoon. Immerse yourself in Elizabethan life and culture at this quaint summer festival that is running two classics onstage: Much Ado About Nothing and Othello. Both productions are performed in a large tent on the bank of the river, and are priced at around $35 (and cheaper for students, seniors and children).
Calling all chocoholics! Canada’s chocolate town St. Stephen in New Brunswick is hosting the Chocolate Fest throughout the first week of August featuring all things chocolate! The extensive list of activities includes a Choctail Hour, Peppermint Patty Bingo, Treasure Hunt, Chocolate Pudding Eating Contest and much, much more! Need I continue? Don’t forget to pay a visit to the Chocolate Museum (yes, there’s a museum) to see some cool displays and exhibits!
Quebec is hosting Mongolfières in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu where you will get a chance to watch the sky become painted with design and colour at the Hot Air Balloon festival. If you’re feeling adventurous, Mongolfières is offering you the chance of a lifetime to experience a ride in one of the balloons as well! The lineup of events also includes a concert by Meghan Trainor, among others, shows, and activities that ensure you have a great time there!
To celebrate the Toronto Film Festival’s 40th anniversary, TIFF has offering 40 free screenings to the public at David Pecaut Square in Toronto. There are four movies scheduled for August, which include The King’s Speech, Dial M for Murder, The Artist, and The Triplets of Belleville. Enjoy being outdoors and the thrill of catching a movie on the big screen. What a treat!
The Abbotsford Airshow promises breathtaking flying and daredevil airborne stunts this year in British Columbia. The program is set to include a Twilight Show as well as a Full Day event line up. The roster contains demos by the Snowbirds, the CF-18, the F-22 Raptor, and the legendary Spitfire, as well as stationary aircraft you can take a closer look at.
