And the person who keeps this and all our other IT stuff running smoothly? Jonathan Pujo. The guy we turn to for everything from web traffic stats to email account setup – this week he tells us what he does and why he loves CorporateStays!
CS: Hey Jon, what’s your background and how long have you worked for CorporateStays?
JP: I passed high school in France with a scientific diploma with Maths option. After that, I attended an IT engineering school for two years in Toulouse, France and finished up my last 3 years in Montreal. When the time came to do an internship, I found an opportunity an Corporatestays as a website integrator and developer. I guess I did something right because that internship turned into a full time job as an IT Manager when I passed my exam! I have been working full time for a year and a half now.
CS: What does a typical day’s work look like for you? JP: After going to the gym I start my work day at 9am by checking and answering all my emails. Then, if the team don’t require my help on IT matters, I follow up with our providers to ensure that our IT projects will be completed in time, sometimes by scheduling meetings with them directly. In addition to that, my day is filled with development, technical support, server management and CRM administration.
JP: I think it’s because we are a motivated team that always wants to improve on what we deliver to our guests.
JP: I don’t want to bother anyone with technical terms but, for me it’s the API I developed. With this tool, we can easily synchronize our property info with all our partners. In general, I’m proud when I can improve the way the team works with the tools we have, and I definitely think we improved things with this initiative.
JP: As I am the only IT person in the company, I work on a lot of different things. For me it’s a really enjoyable aspect of the job because I’m not doing the same thing all the time and I improve my skills every day.
JP: My favorite hobby after playing the guitar is hiking, I have been in every natural park around Québec. Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring, I don’t care, I just love it. My next targets are Vermont and New Hampshire.
