We’ve always said that our organisation is not just about providing luxury accommodation to wealthy guests – it’s about offering a comfortable, safe place to stay for those who need it, and we always try to reflect this in our actions.
As the BBC World News Reports; “Over the past three years, more than 100,000 Syrians have lost their lives in the escalating conflict between forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad and those opposed to his rule. The bloody internal conflict has destroyed whole neighbourhoods and forced more than nine million people from their homes.”
The conflict has worsened in recent months and we want to do something to help. Our plan is two-fold – working with aid organisation A Heart For Syria, we will be collecting financial donations at our front desk at 400 Sherbrooke, and encourage our guests to give generously if they can. The organisation works with communities who need everything from safe drinking water to education, and we believe this is a very worthy recipient of our collection. We will also be donating bed linens and towels to the organization, who will get them to those who have been displaced.
Please help us ease the pain and suffering of those who need it most in Syria – we believe that it’s our duty to reach out in any way we can and we are always stronger and more effective with the support of our guests.
